What ClearBrowse processes
ClearBrowse evaluates page addresses and visible page content on your device to block known explicit websites, enforce SafeSearch, and cover high-confidence sensitive posts on supported mixed-content platforms.
This processing happens locally inside the browser. Page content, browsing history, search queries, and filtering decisions are not sent to ClearBrowse or any third party.
Data stored on your device
The extension stores only its protection state, unlock timer state, and temporary-access expiration in Chrome's local extension storage. This information stays on the device and can be removed by uninstalling the extension or clearing its local data.
Data collection and sharing
ClearBrowse does not collect personally identifiable information, health information, financial information, authentication information, communications, location, browsing history, user activity, or website content.
ClearBrowse does not sell, rent, transfer, or disclose user data. It contains no analytics, advertising SDK, cloud classifier, account system, telemetry endpoint, or remotely hosted executable code.
Browser permissions
- Site access lets ClearBrowse enforce SafeSearch and evaluate platform warnings and visible content locally.
- Storage keeps the local protection and timer state.
- Alarms restores protection after temporary access expires.
- Declarative Net Request redirects known explicit domains to the local block screen.
Children and sensitive information
ClearBrowse is designed to reduce exposure to explicit material, but it does not create user profiles or collect information from children or adults. It does not attempt to identify a user's age.
Policy changes and contact
If ClearBrowse's data practices change, this page and the Chrome Web Store disclosures will be updated before the changed version is released. Privacy or support questions can be submitted through the ClearBrowse listing in the Chrome Web Store.
